Why Teach
Like A Coach™

Teaching deserves better coaching.
This is the story behind the movement.

Our Story

Built from the
inside out.

Teach Like a Coach™ was built from a simple belief: great teaching is not accidental. It is developed through practice, reflection, systems, feedback, and intentional growth.

After more than a decade spent teaching, coaching educators, leading professional learning, and serving in school leadership, one thing became impossible to ignore: teachers are constantly being asked to improve, yet too often the support they receive feels disconnected from the reality of teaching itself.

Too much PD lives in theory.
Too little sharpens the craft.

Teach Like a Coach™ was created to change that.

Our mission: we help educators treat teaching as a performance skill developed through practice, reflection, and intentional coaching. Great coaches study execution, build systems, analyze outcomes, and help people grow through clarity and repetition. Great teaching deserves the same mindset.

Teachers are professionals and experts in the classroom. They do not need more noise, guilt, or performative inspiration. They need practical support, honest reflection, strong systems, and opportunities to sharpen their craft over time.

Teach Like a Coach™ is not about perfection. It is about growth. It is about helping educators gain confidence through reps, develop instructional mastery, reflect with purpose, strengthen classroom systems, and reclaim ownership over their practice.

Because when educators feel effective, learning changes.

This movement was built for educators who still care deeply about the work and want professional development that respects both the complexity of teaching and the humanity of the people doing it.

Our vision is bigger: to build a coaching culture around the craft of teaching.

"Teachers deserve professional development that sharpens the craft and respects the complexity of the work."

Laurine Stafin is an educator, instructional coach, and school leader with more than a decade of experience inside classrooms, coaching conversations, and professional learning spaces. She watched capable teachers question themselves while navigating support that felt disconnected from the realities of the classroom. Teach Like a Coach™ was built from everything she witnessed, practiced, and knows to be true about what great teaching actually requires.

The values behind
the method.

Execution

Real strategies for real classrooms. If it does not work on Monday morning, it does not belong here.

Reflection

Growth happens through reflection. We build habits of analysis, not just action.

Mindset

Teachers are experts. We help them fully own that expertise and trust their craft.

Structure

Fundamentals first. Always. Strong systems create the conditions where great teaching can happen consistently.

Rigor

High expectations for instruction. We do not water down the craft. We build it with precision and purpose.

Growth

Teaching excellence is never finished. We are committed to continual refinement, honest feedback, and getting better over time.

Less Theory.
More Reps.
